In Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, there was a festival where people wore 'grandfather' and 'grandmother' masks and walked around. About 30 elementary school students from Kurashiki City also participated wearing the masks. These masks resemble the faces of the 'grandfather' and 'grandmother' that appear in the shrine's festival. While walking through the town, the elementary school students lightly tapped the heads of onlookers with fans they were holding. It is said that those who are tapped with the fan become healthier or smarter. A person who came from Tottori Prefecture said, 'I was tapped and became more energetic.' One of the masked elementary school students said, 'I tapped about 30 people. I was happy to be thanked when I tapped them.'
