グロッグは、暗い森の奥で「ゴブリン・カフェ」という小さなお店を開いたばかりです。彼は長い間、人間と戦う生活をしてきましたが、本当は平和に暮らしたいと願っていました。
Grog has just opened a small shop called "Goblin Cafe" deep in the dark forest. He has lived a life fighting humans for a long time, but in truth, he wished to live peacefully.
「いらっしゃいませ、お客様」と何度も練習しながら、彼は心を込めてコーヒー豆を挽きます。今日初めて来るお客さんのために、最高の一杯を作るつもりです。
While practicing saying "Welcome, customer" over and over, he grinds coffee beans with all his heart. He intends to make the best cup for the customer coming for the first time today.
その時、カランコロンとドアのベルが鳴りました。なんと、伝説のヒーローレオが店に入ろうとしています。グロッグは驚きすぎて、持っていた布巾を落としそうになりました。
Just then, the door bell rang 'clatter-clang'. Surprisingly, the legendary Hero Leo is about to enter the shop. Grog was so surprised he almost dropped the dishrag he was holding.
レオは強そうなよろいを着て、大きな剣を持っています。グロッグは震える声で必死に言いました。「お、お待ちしておりました！どうぞ、こちらの席にお掛けになりますか？」
Leo is wearing strong-looking armor and holding a large sword. Grog said desperately in a trembling voice. "I, I've been waiting for you! Please, won't you take this seat?"
レオは席に着くと、優しく微笑みました。「噂を聞いて来たんだ。一番のおすすめを頼もうかな」。グロッグは少しホットしましたが、心臓はまだドキドキしています。
When Leo took his seat, he smiled gently. "I came after hearing the rumors. I think I'll order your best recommendation." Grog felt a little relieved, but his heart is still pounding.
グロッグはキッチンに戻り、お湯を沸かしました。彼は少しだけ人間の言葉を理解できますが、敬語を使うことはとても難しいのです。
Grog returned to the kitchen and boiled water. He can understand human language a little bit, but using polite language is very difficult for him.
「よし、準備できた」とつぶやき、グロッグはコーヒーを運びました。しかし、レオの前に立った瞬間、緊張で頭が真っ白になってしまいました。
Muttering "Alright, it's ready," Grog carried the coffee. However, the moment he stood in front of Leo, his mind went completely blank from nervousness.
「さあ、これを食らえ！……あッ！」と、つい昔の戦いの癖で叫んでしまいました。丁寧な言葉で「召し上がれ」と言おうとしたのに、大失敗です。
"Now, take this!... Ah!" he accidentally shouted out of habit from his old battles. He had intended to say politely "Please enjoy," but it was a huge mistake.
店の中がシーンと静まり返りました。グロッグは顔が真っ青になり、「し、失礼なことを言うつもりだったわけではないんです！」と慌てて言い訳をしました。
The inside of the shop fell completely silent. Grog's face turned pale, and he hurriedly made excuses, "I, I didn't mean to say something rude!"
すると、レオはお腹を抱えて笑い出しました。「ははは！『食らえ』か。カフェでそんな熱い言葉を聞くのは初めてだよ。」
Then, Leo clutched his stomach and burst out laughing. "Hahaha! 'Take this,' huh. It's the first time I've heard such passionate words at a café."
「その面白い挨拶のおかげで、すっかりリラックスできたよ」とレオは涙を拭きながら言いました。「君は本当にユニークな店員さんだね。」
"Thanks to that funny greeting, I was able to completely relax," Leo said while wiping away tears. "You really are a unique shop clerk."
レオはコーヒーを一口飲みました。「うん、味は本物だ。香りが深くて、戦いの疲れが吹き飛ぶようだ。」
Leo took a sip of the coffee. "Mm, the taste is authentic. The aroma is deep, and it's as if the fatigue from battle is blown away."
「次は『召し上がってください』と言うと、もっと良くなるよ」とレオはウィンクしました。グロッグは顔を赤くして、「はい、もっと上達します！」と答えました。
"Next time, if you say 'Please enjoy,' it will be even better," Leo said with a wink. Grog blushed and answered, "Yes, I'll get better!"
「また来るよ」と言って、レオは満足そうに帰っていきました。グロッグは、開店したばかりのカフェに素敵な常連客ができたことを喜びました。
Saying "I'll come again," Leo left looking satisfied. Grog was happy that his newly opened café had gained a wonderful regular customer.
