On the 20th, JAXA launched a probe from Tanegashima in Kagoshima Prefecture to study the moons orbiting Mars. The probe is called MMX. The launch was successful. According to the plan, MMX will reach the vicinity of Mars around August next year. After that, over a period of about three years, it will land on a moon orbiting Mars to collect sand. Then, around 2031, it is scheduled to bring the sand back to Earth. If successful, it will be the first time in the world. A JAXA representative said, 'We will do our best to ensure the success of the mission.'
