9つの色の服を気温が30ぐらいの所に5分置いて、服の温度を比べました。
いちばん温度が低かったのは、白い服でした。気温とほとんど同じでした。
温度が低かったのは、白、黄色、グレー、赤、紫、青、緑、濃い緑、黒の順番でした。
緑や黒の服は45以上になりました。
調べた人は「よく考えて服を選んだら、熱中症になる危険を小さくすることができます。お年寄りや小さい子どもは、特に気をつけてください」と話していました。

What color clothes should you wear when going outside on a hot day? The National Institute for Environmental Studies investigated whether the temperature of clothes changes depending on their color. They compared the temperatures of clothes in nine different colors by placing them in a location where the temperature was about 30°C for five minutes. The clothes with the lowest temperature were white. Their temperature was almost the same as the air temperature. The order of clothes with the lowest temperatures was white, yellow, gray, red, purple, blue, green, dark green, and black. Clothes in green and black reached temperatures above 45°C. The researchers said, 'By carefully choosing your clothes, you can reduce the risk of heatstroke. Elderly people and small children should be especially cautious.'
